Hive Mind

The innately shifting protoplasm known to as a Shoggoth will generally change its shape at least a hundred times before settling on a form that it will revert back to for the majority of its life span.

We still don't know what inspires this, as with any lifeform, the variables involved are innumerous and one can only speculate. However, once in a blue moon, we are able to witness an event which irrevocably informs the choices of one of our creatures.

It was during an unseasonably warm spring that we found a Shoggoth, apparently basking in the grounds, that had engulfed a potential queen bee.

The gardens filled with aromas as the creature experimented with pheromones mimicking it's captive. Within hours a swarm flowed through the creature as blood might through a mammal. Drones, both real and created by the Shoggoth intertwined and began to work, building combs, producing honey and replicating.

It shaped itself after an abandoned Apiary and within very little time, the garden had sprung to life in a way not seen since it's creation. It is now no longer Shoggoth and Swarm but some gestalt entity greater than both!

Hive Mind is a peaceful creature, more interested in nectar and self preservation than most of its carnivorous kin, and in its wake, a new plethora of lifeforms, both Shoggoth and other have been found in the grounds, the scientific potential for which is astronomical!
